Current exhibit, Looming Election: Woven Works

Money and politics have been forever woven together!

What Debt Crisis? We printed our own money ...

Workshop participants, with workshop teacher Christina Carroll,
solved their own artistic debt crisis by printing their own

currency-themed monotype prints with imaginative denominations,

faces of unknown leaders and symbols of their own happiness, hope and security. 

Attendees, unapologetic, crafted their own money-themed monotypes while an American flag stood watching (a weaving by Consuelo Jimenez Underwood) and a printing press stood nearby.

It was a full house for the opening of 
Looming Elections: Woven Works
Saturday night June 16.

The Study Center was filled warp and weft with fiber artists and textile admirers alike.
Cameron Taylor-Brown drew a tight crowd for her lecture and video presentation.
We were thrilled to have three of the show participants present for the talk and opening:
 Cameron, Michael Rohde and Consuelo Jimenez Underwood.

Mothers' Day Monotype Workshop-May 2012

Sons, daughters and mothers came together to make 

one-of-a-kind monotype prints as unique as Mom is!

Workshop instructor, Christina Carroll, with her Mother, Norma (who just turned 86!)

Working the plate ... almost ready to print!

Sons, daughters and mothers carrying on ... losts of laughter always!

Attendees new to the materials and technique enouraged eachother and explored together on a lovely Saturday afternoon this past May 5th.
